Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Medical College is one of the oldest private medical colleges in Bangalore which was established in 1981.The Department of Pediatrics was established in the year 1984. The total number of beds in NICU, PICU AND Paediatric wards is 6, 5 and 60 respectively.
Post-graduate courses (1 M.D Paediatrics, 1 D.C.H.) were started in the department in the year 1990-91. Currently the annual intake of PGs is 5 per year.
The department has level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit which operates 24/7.
On an average 50-60 children are seen in the Outpatient department on a daily basis.
Immunization services are available in the outpatient department where vaccines are given according to National Immunization Schedule.
Child Psychology assessment and intervention is being done in the outpatient department by the qualified clinical psychologist.

Eligibility
For General Category (GC) Candidate
• The candidate who holds MBBS degree from recognized Medical College and whose has obtained full registration from Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical councils after completing compulsory rotating internship.
• Securing not less than 50% marks in last 4 & ½ years.
• + 50% marks in either of the Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM)
• Securing not less than 50% marks in last 4 & ½ years.
• + 50% marks in either of the Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM)


Candidates from outside Karnataka State
• Candidates from outside Karnataka State must get Migration certificate from respective State & Eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
• Candidates of minority status should have certificate from appropriate authorities.
• Securing not less than 40% marks in last 4 & ½ Years
• + 40% marks in either of Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM).


For Scheduled Cast (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Other Backward Community (OBC) Candidate
• The candidate who holds MBBS degree from recognized Medical College and whose has obtained full registration from Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical councils after completing compulsory rotating internship.
