Course @ a Glance
The Field of Ophthalmology is associated with the structure, function, diagnosis and treatment of the eye and the visual system. It provides patients with total eye care using medical, surgical and rehabilitative services. We strive to provide the best ophthalmic education possible in accordance with the MCI guidelines. The post-graduate students gain outstanding and rigorous clinical experience in the Department of Ophthalmology as a result of high surgery volume and clinical patient care. Didactic lectures and Clinical Experience presented by our full-time clinical faculty cover all the basic sciences with clinical topics. The lectures fulfill competencies in medical knowledge, professionalism, system-based practice, practice-based learning, and interpersonal & communication skills. The experience is enhanced by availability of advanced research facility, state-of-the-art library, and modern ophthalmic technology with advanced instruments. Sub specialty services are available in Cornea/External disease, Glaucoma, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic Pathology, Oculoplastics, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Vitreoretinal disease, and Uveitis/Immunology. We also have a fully operational Eye Bank.​


Eligibility
For General Category (GC) Candidate
• The candidate who holds MBBS degree from recognized Medical College and whose has obtained full registration from Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical councils after completing compulsory rotating internship.
• Securing not less than 50% marks in last 4 & ½ years.
• + 50% marks in either of the Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM)
• Securing not less than 50% marks in last 4 & ½ years.
• + 50% marks in either of the Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM)


Candidates from outside Karnataka State
• Candidates from outside Karnataka State must get Migration certificate from respective State & Eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
• Candidates of minority status should have certificate from appropriate authorities.
• Securing not less than 40% marks in last 4 & ½ Years
• + 40% marks in either of Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM).


For Scheduled Cast (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Other Backward Community (OBC) Candidate
• The candidate who holds MBBS degree from recognized Medical College and whose has obtained full registration from Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical councils after completing compulsory rotating internship.
• Securing not less than 40% marks in last 4 & ½ Years
