Biochemistry Department was started in the year 1981 and it given training to the MBBS, M.D Biochemistry, BDS, MDS students and paramedical students of BPT, MLT, MIT and Nursing students. Department is well equipped as per the MCI requirements and the U.G and P.G degree are recognized by the MCI. The Department manages the clinical chemistry lab attached to AMCH.


Course @ a Glance
M.D.Biochemistry course at Dr. B R Ambedkar medical College a good opportunity for a medical graduate to become a competent clinical biochemist and a good medical teacher. The department has a mixture of experienced & young very well qualified staff who are eager to share their knowledge with the Post Graduates.
The department has state of the art laboratory, latest books & journals ,adequate infrastructure and research facilities to provide a conducive learning environment for UG & PG’s. The curriculum followed is as per RGUHS and M.D. seats have been sanctioned by MCI.Eligibility
For General Category (GC) Candidate
• The candidate who holds MBBS degree from recognized Medical College and whose has obtained full registration from Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical councils after completing compulsory rotating internship.
• Securing not less than 50% marks in last 4 & ½ years.
• + 50% marks in either of the Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM)
• Securing not less than 50% marks in last 4 & ½ years.
• + 50% marks in either of the Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM)


Candidates from outside Karnataka State
• Candidates from outside Karnataka State must get Migration certificate from respective State & Eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
• Candidates of minority status should have certificate from appropriate authorities.
• Securing not less than 40% marks in last 4 & ½ Years
• + 40% marks in either of Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM).


For Scheduled Cast (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Other Backward Community (OBC) Candidate
• The candidate who holds MBBS degree from recognized Medical College and whose has obtained full registration from Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical councils after completing compulsory rotating internship.
• Securing not less than 40% marks in last 4 & ½ Years
